On 23 December 2023, the International Organization for Media, Creativity and Development held an open discussion through WhatsApp, in which many academics and specialists in many fields participated and exchanged their views and experiences on the "Reality and Future of the Digital Currencies in the Arab World".
According to the participants, there are clear differences in the level of Arab countries’ dependence on this type of currency. Advanced countries, especially in the economic field, are witnessing a noticeable growth in the use of digital currencies, while countries suffering from wars, conflicts, and economic deterioration are still very far from using these currencies.
The dialogue also included important details about the similarities and differences between Central Bank Digital Currencies, Cryptocurrencies and Stable Currencies (coins).
The president of IOMCD, Dr. Madeleine Kassab, moderated this discussion held in Arabic.
